Family Weekend 2026

Friday, October 2 – Sunday, October 4

You’re invited to experience our campus and culture alongside your ̫ӳstudent during Family Weekend. Our goal is to bring our Husky Family to yours!

We would love to introduce you to Husky athletics, professors and staff, and many of our campus organizations as you engage in campus tours, photo opportunities, and plenty of Husky spirit. Your registration includes the day on Saturday; however, there are a number of other weekend activities that you are welcome to join, free of charge.

Online registration opens May 1, 2026 for activities on October 3rd and closes Wednesday, September 30, 2026. Check back for updated schedule information.

*Refunds: If you need to cancel your registration, please email the Family Weekend Team by Friday, September 18, 2026. After this date, refunds will not be issued due to program planning. We’re so sorry for the inconvenience!

Registration Costs

Early Bird: 7/1 - 8/31

Early Bird Rate (July 1 – August 31)

Adults (ages 13+) – $15.00/person
Children (ages 5 – 12) – $10.00/person (Youth M t-shirt and wristband for food/athletics/activities only)
Children (under 5) – Free (wristband for food/athletics/activities only, doesn’t include a t-shirt)

11:30AM – 12:30PM: Family Weekend Check-In
McNair Hall

When you arrive to campus, please check-in at McNair Hall where you will receive your group’s welcome bag, t-shirt(s), and wristband(s) to get into all Family Weekend festivities.

Campus Self-Tours

Wondering where everything is on campus? Participate in a self-guided campus tour and learn where your student is going to class, eating, and studying. We’ll provide the map with plenty of exciting places to see!

11:30AM – 6:00PM: Campus Photo Ops
Morris Family Center for Law & Liberty, Soccer Fields, the Collegium, and the University Academic Center

Don’t miss these exciting Husky photo ops! Step into “HUSKIES” at the soccer fields for a silly family picture, visit the Collegium for all-things-Husky, or embrace HCU’s desire for all to feel welcome at the University Academic Center’s “You Belong Here” mural.

 

11:30AM – 1:00PM: Family Weekend Luncheon

This year, lunch is included in your Family Weekend registration. Please join us and our student musicians as we kick-off the day’s festivities.

Husky Gear Up!
University Store, MD Anderson Student Center

Utilize your Family Weekend discount – 20% off one item – and add to your Husky spirit gear! The discount is valid for one item in the University Store, excluding sale items, books, and food.

Java Break!
Java City, Moody Library

Visit our campus coffee shop, Java City, in Moody Library for seasonal beverages and sweet treats. Coffee shop treats and beverages are not included in your Family Weekend registration cost.

Win great prizes and challenge your fellow Huskies to an exciting game of Bingo! Greek Life will be hosting the event, so come get to know some of our amazing student leaders. Come and go as you can.

Join us for face painting and rock painting. This is a great event for kids, but open to everyone!

Calling all Commuter Students!
Collegium Commuter Lounge, MD Anderson Student Center

Join our Commuter Life Team to learn more about this exciting space, exclusively for commuter students. The lounge has been recently updated, and we are excited to show it off!

This is also a space for Kiza’s Treats location, one of our Family Weekend snack areas. You’ll need your Kiza’s Treats ticket (available at check-in and included in registration) to make your selection.

Howl2Go Dueling Pianos

Looking for an interactive experience with your student? Join us for the Dueling Pianos, hosted by Howl at the Moon. This family-friendly entertainment is a great come-and-go activity during the day.

Husky Backyard Bash with Campus Rec
Holcombe Mall

Yard games, pickleball, and 4-square volleyball for the whole family! Join our Campus Rec team for some healthy competition and fun!

Husky Hangouts & Kiza’s Treats
Corner Pawket, above Baugh Center

Join us for Family Karaoke! Get on the list to sing Karaoke with your student in our fun student space, the Corner Pawket.

This is also a space for Kiza’s Treats location, one of our Family Weekend snack areas. You’ll need your Kiza’s Treats ticket (available at check-in and included in registration) to make your selection.

Java City, Moody Library

̫ӳAlumni: join your second-generation or third-generation Husky Student at Java City! Flip through yearbooks and enjoy a cup of coffee as you meet the Alumni team and reminisce. We will also have some ̫ӳAlumni swag for you! We look forward to meeting you!

 

Husky Walk
Meet by Sorrels Soccer Field

Don’t miss this new tradition, welcoming our Husky football team to the stadium 2 hours before kick-off. Join dozens of other fans as they cheer our Huskies into Husky Stadium.

College Open Houses

Your student is here to be academically challenged and to grow in their professional aptitude. We want you to meet the professors and staff that make that happen!

While you’re in the library, visit Java City for coffee, tea, and treats (not included in registration).

Cheer our Huskies to victory! This is an additional cost and not included with your Family Weekend registration.

You can purchase general admission tickets when you register for Family Weekend at $7/person. ̫ӳcurrent students can attend the football game for free with their student ID.

Important Information

Campus Map and Parking Information

We’re so excited to have you on campus for Family Weekend 2026! Check-in will be in McNair Hall (designated with MCAC on the map), so the best places to park are lots 3 and 6. On October 3rd, families and students are allowed to park anywhere that is not faculty/staff parking.
